Experience:
One year of specialized experience which includes work that involves:
1) Assisting in preparing information for audiences, such as segments of the public directly and indirectly affected by an organization's programs which contributes to the overall understanding of and organization thereby furthering community awareness and support for the missions of the installation.; 2) Providing contributions to the informational, social and recreational needs of a large number of people in the general population and 3) Assisting with preparing and publishing feature stories and other articles in various publications that explain and interpret the work of an organization to disseminate technical or scientific information, or describe technical procedures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-9). To qualify at the GS-12:

Experience:
One year of specialized experience which includes preparing command information publications; training editors, writers, or photographers in a printing section; ensuring published material is suitable in terms of coverage, balance, method of expression or presentation; AND writing and editing articles for publication in internal or external media. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11) Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
Interpersonal SkillsOral CommunicationPublic Affairs Policies and Procedures This is a developmental position, which will be filled at the GS-11 grade level. You will work in a developmental capacity performing assignments and completing training, both of which are aimed at preparing you to gain the knowledge and skills necessary to perform the duties of the full performance level. The candidate placed in this position may be non-competitively promoted to the target grade of GS-12 if he or she has satisfactorily demonstrated the ability to perform at the higher grade level, meets all regulatory such as AR 615-1 and qualification requirements for promotion, has been recommended for promotion by the supervisor and the target position is supported at the time of the promotion. Time in Grade Requirement:
Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
