Experience:
One year of experience equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service which includes performing a variety of clinical laboratory tests or examinations; performing duties as a subject matter expert phlebotomist OR recording transactions associated with the shipment of specimens to referral laboratories for the Department of Pathology within the specialties of chemistry, microbiology, hematology and anatomical pathology in support of direct patient care (inpatient or outpatient). OR Education:
One full academic year of graduate level education in a field directly related to the work of the position, such as Biological Technician work, that required application of the methods and techniques for the position to be filled. (Note:
You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and
Experience:
A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages. AND Certification:
Possess one of the following valid certification; Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS), Medical Technologist (MT), OR Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) Certification accredited by any of the following:
American Society for Clinical Pathology, American Medical Technologists, or other board of registry deemed comparable by the Assistant Secretary of Defense (Health Affairs) or the Center for Clinical Laboratory Medicine. Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
